AC Milan’s priority target for the attaching department this summer will be Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, rather than RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

As reported by Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera), The Dutchman is the player that Milan have landed on to be the long-term replacement for Olivier Giroud who will leave the club this summer on a free transfer.

Much like the coaching role, a whole host of names have been linked with the vacant striker position at Milan. Zirkzee’s name has been a constant and he has given good feedback via his agents about the potential of a move to Milan.

The difficulty is that Bologna want around €65m for the forward. That is a massive figure for Milan to spend and they simply cannot get the move wrong, so they will try to incorporate Alexis Saelemaekers into the deal as he is on loan at Bologna and playing well.

Sesko certainly remains a target for Milan, but it seems that they will only pursue him if a deal for Zirkzee cannot be completed in the early stages of the transfer window.

It may not be easy for the club to make signings until it is known who the new coach will be, as it looks very unlikely to be Stefano Pioli at the helm.
