Halle Berry Protects Kids From an Evil Forest Entity in NEVER LET GO Trailer
Jonas Gustavsson

If Halle Berry doesn’t do anything else in a movie, she is going to protect a child (or children) with all her might while wearing a wig. She is truly the epitome of what it means to be a mother. I still don’t know how Netflix could possibly cancel her movie that’s literally called The Mothership! Anyway, there’s no kidnapper nor evil force that can take Ms. Berry down, not even in the apocalypse. The first trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller Never Let Go dives into an apocalyptic world where danger lurks just beyond a family’s front porch.

In the clip, we see a mom and her two kids living in a remote cabin in the woods. It is truly a classic location for all things evil and disturbing, right? The trio stay tethered to ropes to their house that only allow them to wander so far into the yard. The seemingly paranoid mom constantly tells her twin boys that they must hold onto each other at all costs, even threatening one of them with a weapon. But, as kids do, they question her authority and begin to push back against their mothers rules. It makes sense considering they have likely spent their whole life in a relatively confined space. Of course, she has a legit reason to be afraid because there are some humanoid creatures lurking about. What a life.

Here’s the official synopsis for Never Let Go to accompany its creepy trailer:

From visionary director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Crawl) and the creative minds behind Stranger Things and Arrival comes NEVER LET GO. In this new psychological thriller/horror, as an Evil takes over the world beyond their front doorstep, the only protection for a mother, played by Academy Award winner Halle Berry (Actress in a Leading Role, 2001 – Monster’s Ball), and her twin sons is their house and their family’s protective bond. Needing to stay connected at all times – even tethering themselves with ropes – they cling to one another, urging each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival.
